“The clean snake” is a work that represents a snake with a woman’s face, showing its viperine tongue and wearing a coif on its head. The snake has a hand at the tip of its tail holding a feather duster, suggesting an obsession with cleanliness. However, the irony lies in that its tongue is so long that it is constantly spreading gossip or generating problems with its criticism. One eye is sky blue and always critical and extremist, while the other is similar to a reptile’s, suggesting a duality in its personality. Despite its clean appearance, the snake has a very dusty soul, suggesting that its obsession with cleanliness is just a facade that hides its true nature.
